DeKalb County, Ga.

April 25, 2020

DeKalb County is historically recognized as the second most affluent African American county in the nation. But more than that, DeKalb is unique among Metro Atlanta for its deep hidden culture of love, community, and historic landmarks.

For one thing, the culture is extremely diverse in DeKalb. Perhaps its a reflection on the people living here and its the unmistakable character. However, the reason for much of the love is actually pretty obvious: whenever you bring people together from around the world it creates a melting pot of flavors, cultures, and experiences.

P A R A D I S E

For me, it’s all about the numerous communities. They’ve been immortalized in who knows how many songs and poems, movies, and books, but even though I’ve spent most of my life here I doubt I will ever truly be able to document the underbelly of love I see daily. The communities are their own kind of history book, and for a blogger, all you need to do is live in the moment and soak up your surroundings. I have lived in DeKalb for over 30 years have been blogging for a year, documenting my experiences and sharing my insight on positive living!
